Good Deeds International (GDI) is a non-profit organization established with a purpose to both support existing humanitarian, rescue, educational, economic and medical relief organizations and to establish new works of these kinds while encouraging, training and financially supporting local leaders to continue the work into future generations.
Currently, GDI is raising funds for on-going work in East Asia and special projects around the world.
In 2017, we have missions scheduled for East Asia, including music ministry once again in Japan, the 2nd annual March for Life in Hong Kong and a special project in the Fijian Islands helping families affected by a cyclone that destroyed their village. Funds donated to GDI will be used specifically for expenses of these trips & projects as well as for funds donated to our partner organizations in these areas.
In 2014, GDI was able to send $4500 to purchase supplies & food for refugees & orphans in Southeast Asia through a ministry partner in the region (name withheld for privacy/security by request). A donation of $1500 provides one van-load of MUCH needed food/supplies that will care for an entire refugee camp or orphanage for 1-month. Thankfully, God made a way to stretch the $4500 we sent to provide items for 4 camps and 2 orphanages. We continue to support regular missions to this region and look forward to going back minister in even MORE camps/orphanages in the future.
In 2013, I met the founders of Hand of Love, George & Suad Kawaneh in Nazareth, Israel. They are doing a compassionate work, truly helping widows & orphans as well as providing medical assistance to the poor, showing love through these life-giving acts of service & kindness. As a mostly self-run organization, George has been raising up new leaders and spending time mentoring & training others to help with this mission. GDI supports the work of through financial gifts and we look forward to returning to minister together in the future!
GDI continues to support the FIRST organized 40 Days for Life pro-life movement in Hong Kong which began in January 2016. In 2017, we traveled to Hong Kong to participate in the 2nd annual March for Life across Hong Kong Island and encouraged the volunteers and believers in the city to continue their efforts to encourage a culture of LIFE in Hong Kong. This is a HUGE undertaking and we are happy to be partners with Joe Woodard who is leading the way, connecting Christians of all faiths to come together to support LIFE in Hong Kong.
Good Deeds Intl takes on smaller special projects throughout the year where we can often fill in the gaps in various projects. Sometimes we are meeting a small need within a larger project that is lead by another organization. Sometimes we are simply sending funds to help others who are going on Missions trips or working on a special project overseas. As much as possible, we look for larger organizations who are already working in a specific area and partner with them for follow-up and sometimes even for delivery of items we may be sending into a remote area. In this way, we are simply being one small part of meeting a larger need but are thankful that Good Deeds Intl can be a part of the flow of support to those who need help both in physical needs and spiritual health.
Good Deeds International is a missions & humanitarian arm of Vanessa Maddoux Ministries.
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your GOOD DEEDS and praise your Father in heaven.”
1 Peter 2: 9-12 (MSG) 9-10 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.
11-12 Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions *GOOD DEEDS* will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.
